Installing 1 or 2 devices to try them out won't give consistent performance. I ended up going with <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Zigbee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Zigbee</a> instead, but beware of cheap China-sourced equipment - my failure rates with <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Sonoff" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Sonoff</a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Aqara" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Aqara</a> motion sensors was quite high. <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Matter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Matter</a> is supposed to fix a lot of the platform compatibility issues...as soon as it's ready. For switches, my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Lutron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Lutron</a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Caseta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Caseta</a> system (NOT Zigbee) has been 100% rock solid.
